Federal

As a result of the 2000 Census, the Congressional Districts for the State of Maine have been adjusted. All of the towns in the SAD #57 school district remain in the First District.

Just about anything you might want to know about the Federal government can be found on the web.

The Executive branch of the Federal government is currently headed by President Barack Obama (D - Illinois).

Maine's Senators and Representatives in Congress are part of the Legislative branch of the Federal government.

The United States Supreme Court is the highest and final arbiter of our Judicial branch of the Federal government.

The Small Business Administration offers help for starting a small business.

The Federal Consumer Information Center has a wealth of information and publications for consumers.

The Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) World Fact Book has maps and information about every country in the world.

The US Department of Education has education related information for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Burning Permits

You can find the daily Forest Fire Danger Report at the Maine Forest Service web site. Burning permits are required for burning any material out of doors year around. They are issued by the Town Forest Fire Warden, who is often the Fire Chief. As of July 8, 2005, burning permits may be purchased online at http://www.maine.gov/burnpermit/.
